David Raitt's
Edge of the Forest

A Green Wave Production Release

Reviewed by his sister, Bonnie Raitt

"This collection represents a wide variety of great, homegrown music from some of Mendocino's finest and best local musicians. I've been listening to my brother and many incarnations of his band for nearly twenty-five years and, like a lot of great original music, it's hard to pin down to any one particular style. I've always found that an eclectic, groove-based sound is what makes my own music cut across boundaries, and I think this is one reason people have kept coming back to listen and dance to the "All-Stars" all these years. They've got a really unique blend of singers, players and songwriting that on this wonderful new record really captures the spirit and soul of Mendocino county. It was a real treat to be a part of this project, especially as it will also help raise awareness and support for the protection of our beautiful forests. I suggest you kick back and check it out."

Who Is David Raitt
and The New Mendocino All-Stars?

David Raitt and The New Mendocino All-Stars is a band of local singers, songwriters and performers. David is the band's leader, singer, guitarist and songwriter. David has toured with sister Bonnie in Northern California and Hawaii and has appeared with Bonnie at the Hollywood Bowl, Concord Pavilion and many other concerts nationwide, as her solo harmonica player. David was Bonnie's first bass player performing as an acoustic blues duo in the early 70's in New York, and as recently as this past year with David Grissman and Bonnie on Alcatraz - playing acoustic harmonica to raise money for The Bread and Roses Foundation. David and members of the All-Stars have toured northern California as the pit band for many of Laurel Near's musical dramatic comedies. Weddings, corporate parties, and large showcase fund-raisers are their specialties. This band is smokin'! It represents some of the area's finest talent. The New Mendocino All-Stars will leave you feeling good all over.
